Over $8000 for Spinal Research!
Thanks to the efforts of Martin Harvey (a Governor of the Australian Spinal Research Foundation) and the generosity of the chiropractic community over $8,000 has been raised for chiropractic research at Run Melbourne on Sunday 22 June!
The day of the run was a typical Melbourne winter’s morning, cold and raining, but Martin managed to brave the conditions and finish comfortably in 1 hour and 53 minutes. Martin ran the half-marathon (21.1 kilometers) and received donations to support his effort. Martin said "Exercise is such an important part of the chiropractic lifestyle and this event brought together two of my passions; running and chiropractic”.
By raising over $8000 Martin was the highest individual fundraiser for the whole event! Martin explained “While you register as an individual Debbie Trembath and Peter Banfield at Spinal Research and my wife Nicole and Kathy Grace (Peter Farrelly’s wife) did a huge amount of work to get me to first place”.
Kathy and Nicole even managed to organise a post run interview where the thousand or so people there got a 5 minute chiropractic health care class with Martin pointing out the importance of chiropractic in a healthy lifestyle!
